NEWBURYPORT, MA —For generations children have enjoyed exploring tide pools and discovering the fascinating plants and animals that live in this realm between the tides. A refuge ranger will guide this hands-on session. Appropriate for children age 5–10. Actual tide pool time on the beach will last approximately one-hour, along with a 20-minute wrap up activity, allowing ample time for travel to and from Lot 1 and Sandy Point. Participants will meet the ranger on the deck of the visitor contact station at the refuge’s Lot 1 and then follow in their vehicles down to the Sandy Point parking lot. While this is a program designed for children, parents and guardians are asked to please remain with their children throughout the length of the program. Advance registration is required, as enrollment is limited to 30.
