HAVERHILL, MA —Merrimack Valley Hospital’s third annual geriatric psychiatry conference will be held Fri., September 13, in the David Hartleb Technology Center at Northern Essex Community College, 100 Elliott St. in Haverhill.
The day will begin at 8:00 a.m. with breakfast coffee and registration and end at 3:00 p.m. The cost of $25.00 includes a full lunch plus five continuing education credits for physicians, nurses and social workers (pending).
Shabbir Abbasi, MD, who will present on Parkinson’s Disease: Etiology, Pathology, Clinical Features and Neuropsychiatric Treatment.
Nicole Absar, MD, will speak about The Syndrome of the 3 Ms Associated with Frontal Subcortical Cognitive Impairment.
Nicole Fagone, MSW, LCSW, program director for New England Geriatrics, will present on Personality Disorders and the Older Adult.
Tracey D’Amico OTR/L and Margaret Pfeiffer MSN, RN, CS from St. Anne’s Hospital, will present on Approach, Environment and Alternative Treatment Modalities: Keys to Successful Management of Behaviors in the Older Adult.
Buck Woo, PhD will present on Neuropsychology and Retraining of Memory and Functional Cognition.
The cost of the conference is $25.00, which includes breakfast coffee and beverages, lunch as well as five continuing education credits for nurses and physicians. The conference is open to the public as well as health care professionals.
