Interfaith Concerts

HAMPSTEAD – The year’s free concert series, offered by the Interfaith Choir, have been scheduled for Sat., December 12, 7:30 p.m. at Hampstead Congregational Church, Main Street, Hampstead and Sun., December 13, 4:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 471 Main Street, Haverhill, MA.

This marks the choir’s 44th year entertaining area audiences with music to usher in the Christmas season. Singers represent more than 20 local churches and are brought together by their common love for music and a desire to spread the Christmas message through instrument and voice.

Director, Cindy Ladew, has invited Gospel Chalk Artist, Katey Avedisian, to draw her interpretation as the choir sings. Using chalk as large as sidewalk chalk, Katey’s pictures magically unfold – depicting a dramatic message without the need for words.

Accompanists for the choir are Virginia Legare and Millie Saunderson. Virginia will also direct the children’s choir, which will present their own renditions of holiday favorites.

Musical selections, which include Patapan, Christmas Pipes, Of the Father’s Love Begotten, and O Magnum Mysterium, are sure to please all musical tastes.

A freewill offering will be taken and refreshments and fellowship will follow each performance. For more information, call 603-329-6047.
