Sunday Concert Series

— EXETER – Aliento Chamber Players is proud to present a monthly “First Sunday” concert series at Christ Episcopal Church in historic Exeter, focusing on solo and chamber music professionals located in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire. Other performers from as far away as France are interspersed throughout the season to give tremendous depth and dimension to the first year of this series.
Seacoast area resident Dorothy Braker (The Juilliard School) has developed this series, along with musical colleagues Joanna Cyrus, Mary Towse-Beck, Pat Morrison and other area musical professionals, to showcase the exceptional artistic talents within our own community. The series takes place in the extraordinary acoustical setting provided by Christ Episcopal Church.
Aliento’s performances are on the first Sunday afternoon of each month at 3:00 p.m. (with the exception of December’s performance which will be held on December 19 at 7:00 p.m.). The first concert is on Sun., September 7, featuring pianist Mary Towse-Beck with a romantic and virtuosic program by Franck, Ravel, Chopin and Liszt. This is followed on October 5, with a glorious all-Brahms program by Paul Dykstra, pianist, Beth Pearson, cellist, and Nancy Fiske, clarinetist.
This first year of the series gives the listener a treat, each month featuring a different grouping of instrumental and/or vocal artists. It features well loved musical repertoire performed by seasoned local professionals, who will bring you into their world and make you a part of the experience.
Tickets are available for a suggested donation of $15.00 per concert, discounted to $12.00 for seniors and $3.00 for students/children. Discounts are also available for series or group tickets. Christ Episcopal Church (located at 43 Pine Street in Exeter) is handicap accessible and has an ample parking lot.
