HAMPSTEAD – The 2009 Meetinghouse Park Summer Music Series continues on Tues., July 7, with the Freese Brothers’ Swing Band, in concert starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Freese Brothers’ Swing Band was formed in 1982 by four brothers, Jack, Bill, George, and Courtland, who began playing music together in a family performing troupe in the 1930’s. Their program includes a mix of Big Band and Swing classics, as well as top tunes of every decade since the Big Bands were the rage in the 1940’s, as well as Miller and the Duke, Manhattan Transfer and the Beatles, and Brian Setzer and Norah Jones

The Freese Brothers’ Swing Band supports and encourages the development of musical talents (especially young musicians) and its members, and to foster an appreciation of music of all musical eras. The men and women of the Freese Brothers Big Band live and work throughout Central and Southern New Hampshire, coming from diverse professional and musical backgrounds including talented local high school students. They blend their years of experience to produce a distinctive sound.

Meetinghouse Park, located adjacent to the historic Town Meeting House at the corner of Emerson Avenue and Main Street in Hampstead, is the site of a series of free musical concerts during the summer of 2009. The program is sponsored by the Hampstead Cable TV Advisory Board and is open to the public. Admission and parking are free, and all are invited. Concerts are rain or shine. Lawn chairs or blankets and appropriate clothing are recommended.
