SANDOWN – The Sandown North School would like to invite you to their Annual Spring Fine Arts Night on Tues., May 13, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the North School, 23 Stagecoach Drive. The student’s gallery will be open for viewing all evening and will showcase the talents of the Sandown North student in grades 1 through 3. Every student will have two pieces of artwork hanging on display and some students will also have a 3-D sculpture on display.
The students have worked throughout the year with oil pastels, watercolors, paint, clay, pen & ink, pencil, marker, crayons and colored pencils. This will be a wonderful opportunity to view their young artist’s works. During the evening the third grade will entertain with a short Recorder Performance starting 6:30 p.m.
Also on display are photographs along with an essay by each student created during this year’s Artist in Residence program titled “The essence of me”. There will then be a DVD presentation at 6:45 p.m. that showcases all photographs taken during the AIR program. This DVD and an 8.5” x 11” poster montage will be available for purchase and all profits will go to support future AIR programs.
The grant for this program was provided by the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts along with matching funds provided by the Sandown PTA. Your continued support of the Arts helps us provide the students with new media so they can explore and make a connection to the arts. So please join, the night will be filled with music, food, and fun for the whole family.
