EXETER – The curtain closes on the 2007-2008 Exeter High School (EHS) Theater season with two performances of The Foreigner, a comedy by Larry Shue, on Thurs., May 15 and Fri., May 16, at 7:00 p.m., in the high school auditorium. Admission is $1.00 for students and $2.00 for adults.
The antics take place at a Georgia fishing lodge where, upon their arrival, painfully shy Charlie Baker tells his friend Froggy LeSeur that he just can’t talk to strangers, can’t even complete his own sentences anymore. To help him out, Froggy introduces Charlie as a “foreigner” from an exotic land who can neither speak nor understand English with the promise that no one will talk to him. Of course, who can resist talking to a foreigner who can’t understand him? Charlie soon discovers all of the secrets of the residents of Tilghman County, Georgia, secrets that will bring surprises and laughter.
Seniors Bill O’Donnell and Nic Delcambre take on the roles of Charlie and Froggy with the rest of the cast rounded out by EHS students Lily Zwaan, Jonna Dozet, Greg Dixon, Jordan Tymann, Mike Pratt, Brittany Porter and Robbie Collinge II. Refreshments will be available during intermission, proceeds to benefit the EHS Drama Boosters Scholarship Program.
