Food for Thought

KENSINGTON – Enjoy fine food, music, and outstanding raffles at the Kensington Education Foundation’s first annual fundraiser, Food for Thought, being held at the new Exeter High School, 315 Epping Road, Exeter, on Sat., March 29, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Students in the Seacoast School of Technology Culinary Arts Program, under the direction of Mr. Jim Collins, will be preparing and serving all you can eat delectable morsels such as bacon-wrapped scallops, stuffed mushroom caps, mini crab cakes, sesame chicken, shaking beef, fruits, cheeses, crudités, tantalizing sweets and more.
Listen to live music performed by students from the Exeter High School Jazz Band under the direction of Tim Miles.
Take a chance or twenty to win a variety of raffle items including hand-made quilts and furniture, delivered mulch and loam, artwork, health and beauty products, tools, food products including Lindt chocolate, Squamscott soda and Marian Kimball’s famous whoopie pies; and numerous gift certificates for voice lessons, veterinary services and clothes to name but a few. Combined value of all raffle items is over $1,500.00. Raffle tickets will only be available at the event and may be applied to your choice of items. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.
Donors of raffle items and door prizes include Amesbury Animal Hospital, Toomey Landscaping, B.W. Smith Excavation, Better Bookkeeping, Animal Manners, Kensington Autoworks, Cut Above, George and Phillips, Two Flights Down, Trends Gift Gallery, JeSCo Construction, Conner Bottling Works, Dirty Girl Soap Co., CP Building Supply, Lindt, Julia’s Restaurant at SST, Polly’s Flower Shoppe, Apple Hill Golf Club, Divine Café, Glass America, Stop & Shop, Shaw’s Supermarkets and Ian’s Granite State Franks.
Tickets for the event are available in advance only, and only until Mon., March 24. The price per ticket is $20.00, and they can be purchased at The Kensington Grocery Store, 98 Amesbury Road, Kensington; at Water Street Books, 125 Water Street, Exeter; or by mailing a check payable to Kensington Education Foundation, along with your name, address, phone number, and email address (optional) to The Kensington Education Foundation, PO Box 806, Exeter NH 03833-0806.
Proceeds from the event benefit the Kensington Education Foundation, which returns over 90% of contributions to the Kensington community. The Foundation is dedicated to supporting educational opportunities for Kensington residents by providing grants and scholarships for a wide variety of educational activities.
To date, the Foundation has made grants to the Kensington Social Library, to S.A.L.T. (Seniors And Law enforcement Together) for their educational programs, and to the Kensington School District toward the completion of the Kensington Elementary School kitchen.
