---- — HAMPSTEAD – Come join Gary Brandt and Jackie Davidson at the Hampstead Public Library on Tues., October 9, at 7:00 p.m., when they will entertain us with some of their classic and original folk songs.
Gary Brandt is a retired educator and coach who now devotes himself full time to his music. He is well known in his home state of Michigan as a folklorist, singer and songwriter. He accompanies his songs on his twelve string guitar, tells humorous tales that reflect his music and even brings his dog “Cooper” to join in the fun.
Jackie Davidson has had a long career as a singer. She was an original member of the famous New Christy Minstrels, a group that appeared on the Andy Williams Show. They performed at the White House for President Johnson, in Carnegie Hall and the Hollywood Bowl in their storied career. For two years she and Gayle Caldwell made hundreds of TV appearances as “Jackie and Gayle”. In 2005, the New Christy Minstrels reformed with Jackie as one of the original returning members. In 2010 Jackie joined with Gary Brandt to create “Singing the Good Old Songs Again”.
The Friends of the Hampstead Public Library are delighted to present this exceptional musical show free to the community. Refreshments will follow the show. Members of the Friends are invited to stay for the regular monthly meeting of the organization.
