---- — ATKINSON - Make no bones about it, this ‘joint is jumpin’!’ Come to a skeleton connection where we’ll put the bones in all the right places. These fun, moveable skeletons are quick and easy to make, and we’ll learn some ‘bone-ified’ facts about the body at the same time. This activity is for children ages 6-9 or in grades 1-3. Make sure you register your children so they get a seat. Mmmmm... bones! Bon appetite for a ‘special kiddie-bone’ treat!

It’s a ghostly, ghastly time of year and we’ve got a special event planned all about NH cemeteries and gravestones. Be sure to mark your calendar for Mon., October 28, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., so that you will not be left out in the cold, dark night.

Rubbings, photographs, and slides illustrate the rich variety of gravestones to be found in our own neighborhoods, but they also tell long-forgotten stories of such historical events as the Great Awakening, the Throat Distemper epidemic, and the American Revolution. Find out more about these deeply personal works of art and the craftsmen who carved them with Glenn Knoblock, and learn how to read the stone “pages” that give insight into the vast genealogical book of New Hampshire.

This program is funded by a grant from the NH Humanities Council. It is sponsored by the Atkinson Historical Society. Refreshments will be served.

Here’s a haunting little reminder that we have an evening story time on Friday nights at 6:30 p.m.,for ages 4-8. Bring the little ones in their pajamas for PJ Peeps. Story and snack are included.
