So many requests were pouring in at the close of Summer Reading to continue with some form of Reading Program, we created “The Great Gumball Challenge.” The program will include reading incentives, activities, a reading log, and all things Bubble Gum! Stay tuned for details!
Story Times resume the week of September 9. Age appropriate rhymes, music, wordplay and stories with occasional crafts are offered several times a week to accommodate various age groups. Baby lap sit meets for ages 0-2 on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Toddler Time meets for ages 3-5 on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. A new program, Slumber Storytime, has been added for ages 3-5 on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. Feel free to attend in your PJs and bring a favorite stuffed sleeping buddy.
“Diary of a Wimpy Kid” fans take note: a monthly “Wimpy Kid” book club will meet for grades 2-5 on Wednesdays, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. Creative discussion, games, crafts and art to explore this popular books series. Please pick up a copy of “Greg Heffley’s Journal” Book #1 by September 11.
“Tween Town” for grades 6-8 begins Tues., September 10. A different themed activity will be presented by Ms. Cara one Tuesday a month from 4:00-5:00 p.m. The first program will feature Origami Yoda—a famous book turned craft. We will try out different Origami designs.
The Imajine That Museum presents: ‘Science Explorers - Weather Watchers’ on Thurs., September 12 at 10:00 a.m. for ages 3-6. Children will use their five senses to detect and recognize weather, followed by a cool craft.
