---- — SANDOWN — Continuing our focus on “Everything New England,” the Sandown Public Library will present a program on the process to make maple syrup on Thurs., February 7 at 6:30 p.m. Do you wonder how sap from a maple tree becomes syrup in the bottle? Meet Brian Folsom from Folsom’s Sugarhouse in Chester, and learn what’s involved to make homemade maple syrup. It won’t be long before the sap starts running and the process will start. Space is limited so please register online or call 887-3428. Maple syrup products will be available for purchase.

Movie & Social (two showings): Just in time for Valentine’s Day, the library will show the romantic comedy, “Play the Game” starring Andy Griffiths and Doris Roberts on Mon., February 11 at 1:00 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served at the afternoon performance and Bruchetti’s pizza at the 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Library Closed: Reminder to everyone that the library will be closed on Mon., February 18 for Presidents’ Day.

Books & Bites! Adult Book Discussion: Join our group of avid readers on Tues., February 19 at 6:30 p.m., to discuss “Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand. This is the true World War II story of survival, resilience, and redemption of Louis Zamperini, who survived as a Japanese prisoner of war.

Knitting Group: Expert and beginning knitters are always welcome to join the knitting group that meets every Monday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the library. Bring your current project with you to work on and share your knitting experience with the other crafters.

Cribbage & Cards: Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. is Cribbage Night at the library. Drop in for a fun time and learn how to play cribbage, whist, 45’s or gin rummy. Brush up on your skills or learn a new game. All ages and abilities are welcome!

Museum Passes: Reminder to everyone that the library has family passes to thirteen area museums including Boston Aquarium, Museum of Science, Currier Art Museum, Imajine That and many more. The passes may be reserved in advance and can save the user significant cost on admission. The library is grateful to the Friends of the Sandown Public Library for their continued support for this program.
