---- — EPPING —With no school in Epping on Fri., February 8, the Harvey Mitchell Memorial Library (HMML) will celebrate the re-release of Disney’s “Peter Pan” by showing the classic animated feature at 1:00 p.m. in the children’s room. Please remember that all young children must be accompanied to the movie by a responsible big person. The library will provide popcorn and bottled water, but all are encouraged to bring a snack to share.

Pajama Night will start that same evening at 6:30 p.m. with “Off to Neverland” for its theme. Families with children ages 2-8 are invited to wear their PJs for crafts, a scavenger hunt through ‘Neverland’ and songs and stories with Miss Tracie at the end of the evening. As with all Pajama Nights, guests are asked to bring something for the snack table whether it’s an easy bag of pretzels, a plate of fruit or homemade sweets.

HMML’s book groups are starting up again in February. The Eclectic Book Group meets on the second Wednesday of the month, and will be discussing “The Prizewinner of Defiance, Ohio” by Terry Ryan on February 13, starting at 7:00 p.m. The Dusty Old Mystery Group gathers on the third Wednesday each month and will be meeting on February 20 to discuss “Zombies of the Gene Pool” by Sharon McCrumb. Copies of both books are available at the main circulation desk.

The next Lego Block Party will be held on Sat., February 16, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Epping mom, Kate Moulton provides the blocks and the kids provide the creativity. Children ages 4 and up are welcome to this monthly gathering of Lego fans, which simply provides a fun hour for building, sharing and collaborating. For more information, contact Kate at eppingblockparty@gmail.com.

On Tues., February 19, local artist turned storyteller, Veo-Dao Nu Bunnag will be at the library to read her recently published story, “Mr. Speedy’s Adventure”. Visitors to the library have seen her artistic ability in the stairway story murals that she painted years ago. The public is invited to join the Story Explorers at 3:30 p.m. for this wonderful opportunity to meet a local author and hear her tale about a snail named Mr. Speedy. She will bring copies of her book for purchase and signing.

Epping’s public library is open Mon.-Fri., from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sat., 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For more information call 734-4587 to reach the main desk, 679-5944 for the children’s room or visit www.eppinglibrary.com.
