Poster Contest at HMML

EPPING —The Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library’s building committee is sponsoring a Poster Contest for children in grades K-12. Over the past year, the adults in the library community have been considering the many reasons why we need a new library in Epping. Now it’s the kids’ turn. Children with artistic leanings are asked to create a poster on 14”x22” poster board that shows what a new library would mean to them. The artists may use whichever medium they choose, and are required to put their name, grade and phone number on the back. One winning poster from each grade grouping (elementary, middle and high school) will be awarded a $25.00 Barnes & Noble gift card.

Winners will be announced at the Community Pizza Party on Thurs., January 31. This fun evening will feature visits from sports mascots Fungo of the Fisher Cats and Wild E. Cat from UNH, plus delicious pizza donated by Epping’s own award-winning Zacky’s Pizzeria. Tickets costing $.50 each will be sold at the door. One slice of pizza will be just two tickets, and each ticket will be an entry in a drawing for a Barnes and Noble gift card. The event will provide residents the opportunity to discuss the exciting plans the library has for the future, well before voting day in March.

Epping’s public library is open Mon.-Fri., from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sat., 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For more information, call 734-4587 to reach the main desk, 679-5944 for the children’s room or visit www.eppinglibrary.com.
