Family Winter Festival

EAST KINGSTON - Do you have the “post Holiday blues” The Family Winter Fest is the perfect remedy to get you back into the swing of things. Bring the family and join the Friends of the East Kingston Library on Sun., January 13, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at the East Kingston Library, 47 Maplevale Road, East Kingston, for wintery activities and life music.

Ellen Carlson and Jim Prendergast will entertain you with a vast array of fiddling styles in a upbeat program of music. Performing on fiddle for over 35 years, Ellen has studied numerous fiddling styles, such as bluegrass, Irish, old-time, country, swing, Canadian and others. She is also the leader of the NH Fiddle Ensemble.

Jim, a Nashville transplant who has recorded some of the best musicians in music city, is an accomplished guitarist and mandolin player. Come enjoy a sleigh (well, really a hay) ride and toast some marshmallows on the fire pit. Bring your hat, scarf, items for face, etc. to create your amazing snow man for the snow man competition. Granite State Grill will be selling hot dogs, and the Friends will provide you with a cup of hot chocolate or hot cider.

Help the Friends make this first annual event a huge success!
