NEWTON — Hope everyone had a great time at our first-ever Open Mic Night during National Library Week. Congratulations to our contestants and prize winners, lots of fun! Thanks so much to the Hallock Family for offering their time and musical talents to this event!

Gratitude is expressed to Dunkin Donuts of Newton Road in Plaistow, for their donation of gift certificates that were awarded as prizes.

Kristy Lacroix’s Travel Workshop was informative and interesting. Full of ideas to inspire your next vacation, thank you, Kristy!

Join us on Wed., May 1 at 6:30 p.m., for an entertaining evening of song and history, Welcome Home New Hampshire. Don Watson is a singer/songwriter from Gilford, whose music has been compared to John Denver, Jim Croce and Dan Fogelberg. His songs are upbeat, inspiring and easy on the ears. Don’s newest project “Welcome Home New Hampshire” is a collection of songs based on people, places and events of the granite state. Don partnered with Steve Redic, a poet and historian from Candia, in the writing of these songs. This program is free and open to the public.

A warm welcome to Diane Morin, Anne Banks, and Lynne Camp as the newest members of the Gale Library Board of Trustees! Gratitude is extended to Carol Szot as an outgoing Trustee member who has provided many years of dedication to the Library. Thank you!
