---- — HAMPSTEAD — On Fri., April 19 at 4:00 p.m., the Hampstead Public Library will be showing the movie based on our Spring Read novel, “A Wrinkle in Time.” When astrophysicist Dr. Jack Murry disappears without a trace, his children Meg and Charles Wallace embark on a cosmic quest to find him. Guided by beings with special powers, the children travel to a distant planet and encounter a society controlled by an evil force. They must trust themselves and one another if they are to rescue Dr. Murry and return home safely. Kids and adults are invited to experience the excitement and adventure of this movie. Snacks will be served.
PLANET HUNTER- Did you ever wonder about the planets in our solar system or how we find planets around other stars? How many are there? How far away are they? Let the Planet Hunter help you discover the answers to these questions and more in an event at the Hampstead Public Library. On Wed., April 24 at 6:30 p.m., an educator from the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center will present an entertaining and interactive multi-media program. This event is free and open to the public.
STORYTIME BREAK- There will be no Storytime for 3 to 5 year olds at the Hampstead Public Library during Spring Break week (April 22 to 26.) Mother Goose on the Loose story hour for infants (to age 2) and their caregivers will continue as usual.
SPRING BREAK CREATION STATION- During April school vacation week, kids and their families are invited to visit the Creation Station located in the first floor program room of the Hampstead Public Library. The activity is inspired by the Spring Read feature book “A Wrinkle in Time.” Kids can make and take home a rocket ship. There will also be an ongoing group project in which everyone can contribute to the construction of a time-travel machine. All the materials for these projects will be supplied. You only need to bring your creativity and imagination.
