---- — NEWTON — There’s still time to stop in and visit with Jasmine our READ dog! Nancy Reiss and Jasmine will be here each Wednesday afternoon throughout the month of May. Children are invited to join us and read aloud with a book of their choice. A sign-up sheet is located at the circulation desk.

Game Night will be held on Wed., May 22 at 6:00 p.m. Enjoy a game of cribbage, or stop by with friends to play Wii. Drop in for an evening of challenge and strategy.

A Movie Matinee will be held on Fri., May 24 at 1:00 p.m. An American Girl film, “McKenna Shoots for the Stars”, will be the title shown. There is no school this day for Memorial School students.

The Friends of the Gale Library will be holding their annual book sale on Sat., June 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Estabrook’s Garage. Donations may be delivered to the library or to the garage. We are unable to accept text books, encyclopedias, novels older than five years, or in damaged condition. Volunteers are also encouraged to assist on sale day.

The Genealogy Club is seeking your assistance. The members are researching Newton families and would very much appreciate any information that could be included in the project. All records, documents, stories, etc. would then be added to our Genealogy collection at the Library. All materials (photocopies are fine), can be sent via email at galelibraryreads@comcast.net, or delivered during our open hours. Your contributions will be available for future generations to come!

The next meeting will be held on Wed., June 18 at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

A reminder that we will be closed on Mon., May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.
