PLAISTOW - Don’t miss the annual Holiday Ornament Making program on Sat., December 7, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon. Appropriate for ages up to 12 years. The Recreation Department and Youth Services Librarian will present this event together: please register in advance with either the library or the Recreation Department.

Pick up the book Still Alice by Lisa Genova at the front desk, and join us for a coffee, muffins and discussion on December 11, at 10:30 a.m. This is the second of a series of book groups focusing on themes of home and family.

Imajine That visits continue in December with “Science Explorers – Let It Snow”. December 12, at 4:00 p.m., for ages 3 – 6. Registration is required.

The Friends are raffling a handmade dollhouse to benefit the library. Visit the front desk for tickets for your chance to win this beautiful handmade item, donated by the Small Passions Miniature Club of Plaistow. The winner will receive 81 solid-wood accessories and furniture pieces. Tickets are $1.00 each, $5.00 for six tickets, and $20.00 for 25. Come to the drawing December 16, at 4:00 p.m., to find out who wins. Second and third prize winners will also be given out, and every participant who comes will receive a free book.

On Sat., December 21, at 11:00 a.m. Interior designer Amelia Holdsworth will demonstrate how easy it is to create breathtaking “Tablescapes” using items you may already have around your house. From traditional to eclectic, learn the basics of designing festive table decor for the holidays and beyond. Visit www.holdsworthinteriors.com for more information about Amelia. Register now for holiday break events including “The Norman Magic Experience” on December 23 at 1:00 p.m., and ‘The Woodland Cinderella’ Puppet Show from acclaimed puppeteer, Deborah Costine – December 27 at 2:00 p.m. Norman Ng combines original and amazing magic tricks with his unique style of storytelling, action, and audience interaction. The curtain is pulled back and the audience is invited to a world where anything is possible. Recommended for Ages 4 and up. The Recreation Dept. and Youth Services Library are sponsoring this event. Registration is required as space is limited.
