---- — KINGSTON —Join us for our Jawsome Teen Shark Week Program on Thurs., August 8, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. We will have the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week on, cover ourselves in scales, make ‘sushi’ and create shark inspired crafts. Grab some friends, get out of the house, and come on down for food and fun!

Join the Youngsters at Heart Club, designed for individuals 55+, this group will meet for coffee, refreshments, and socializing on Wed., August 14, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Come hang out, watch the news, play cards, or board games, or simply just chat.

Don’t miss Nickelodeon’s award-winning children’s performer Mike Bent in an epic quest, as he searches the ruins of an ancient temple for a priceless artifact - an overdue library book! Young readers will help Mike solve mysterious clues to uncover the secret location of the elusive missing text. This entertaining adventure will be held on Fri., August 9 at 11:00 a.m. and features magic, comedy, storytelling, puppets and music, plus amazing books such as “Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs” by Mo Williams and “Holes” by Louis Sachar. The program is appropriate for ages 3+. Supported by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and donations from the Byrne Foundation, CHLIS, Cogswell Benevolent Trust, and the NH Library Association.

We are seeking the following household items to be used for crafts in the children’s room: wooden spoons, men’s/boys’ ties, dish washing soap bottles, colorful socks, and hair scrunchies.

There is still time to buy discounted tickets to York’s Wild Kingdom! The Friends of the Library are selling York’s Wild Kingdom Tickets for just $13.00! Regular Prices: Adults $21.25 and children 4-12 $16.25.

The Friends of the Library are also offering reimbursements for museum visits. Simply purchase admission tickets at the time of your museum visit, fill out the reimbursement form you can pick up at the library, include a copy of the ticket receipt, and bring the form and receipt to the library. A reimbursement check will be mailed to the patron within two weeks. Reimbursement is limited to fifty-percent of the ticket price up to $20.00 per family group visit. Amusement and theme parks are not covered.
