Kingston Library News

KINGSTON —Back to school donations of backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, markers etc. are needed. Your donated items will be brought to Bakie School and disseminated to students in need. Anything, great or small, is welcome. Your generosity is deeply appreciated. Items can be dropped off at the Library during normal Library hours throughout the month of August (no later than August 23).

Don’t miss Family Movie Night on Fri., August 30 at 5:30 p.m. Taking time to have a regular family night is a great way to create lasting memories. Enjoy screenings of newly released DVDs in library meeting room. Please bring a potluck snack to share. Popcorn will be provided.

The indoor walking group “Book It” continues throughout August on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. We will be walking with Leslie Sansone, following her DVD (two mile brisk walk, 30 minutes). All ages and all levels are welcome. You set your own pace and decide how long you want to walk. Plus we will be inside an air-conditioned room!

In addition to the Friends of the Library reimbursements for museum visits, we now have a membership to the Independence Museum in Exeter, which gets you free admission! Thanks to Betsy Sanders who donated this marvelous service to the community. For all other museum visits, simply purchase admission tickets at the time of your museum visit, fill out the reimbursement form you can pick up at the library, include a copy of the ticket receipt, and bring the form and receipt to the library. A reimbursement check will be mailed to the patron within two weeks. Reimbursement is limited to fifty-percent of the ticket price up to $20.00 per family group visit. Amusement, theme, state, and federal parks are not covered.
