EPPING — This month’s Pajama Night at the Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library comes just in time for Mother’s Day. On Fri., May 10 children ages 3-8 and their families are invited to wear their PJs to the library for stories, a scavenger hunt celebrating Mom and simple crafts that will be perfect for giving as gifts on Mom’s special day. Dads, make an early gift of an evening to herself and bring the kids on your own! The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. Please bring a snack to share.

Monday Munch and Movie on May 13 will feature “Three Coins in the Fountain”, the charming romantic comedy made in 1954 about three American women looking for love in Rome. Directed by Jean Negulesco. The movie begins at 12:30 p.m. Bring a lunch!

The library’s Spring Tea Party for children will be on Sat., May 18, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Young ladies and gentlemen of Epping and neighboring towns are invited to this special day of dress-up, old fashioned crafts and games, and yummy treats. Please call Miss Tracie at 679-5944 to RSVP so there will be enough tea and cucumber sandwiches for all.

Lizzi Borden took an axe, or did she? Dr. Annette Holba of Plymouth State University will illuminate the circumstances of the famous double homicide that took place in Fall River, MA back in 1892. This program is funded with a grant from the New Hampshire Humanities Council and will be held on Thurs., May 23 at 7:00 p.m.

Save the date: The annual Toy Sale to benefit the library’s summer reading program is scheduled for Sat., June 22. Donations of clean, gently used toys, games and sports equipment can be dropped off at the library during operating hours. In the case of larger items, please call the children’s room to make arrangements. Sale items will be stored off-site until June 21. Think of the library during spring cleaning!

    LAWRENCE — Marie Rose (Robidoux) Audy, passed away at her home surrounded by her family, after suffering a stroke in April. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Rose A. (Betit) and Alfred Robidoux, originally of Quebec, Canada. She was predeceased by her husband of 28 years, Armand Joseph Audy, who passed away on June 28, 1976.

  • Francis M. Lurvey, 76

    Bar Harbor, ME — Francis M. Lurvey passed away Sunday, June 22, in Bar Harbor, Maine, after battling cancer. By his side were his sons, Edwin Lurvey and Steven Lurvey and his niece and husband, Debra and Richard Carey, as well as cousin, Marion McDonald. He was the son of Edwin R Lurvey (Bar Harbor) and Delia Amazeen (Dexter). He is survived by five children, a stepson, and their families. His sons, Edwin and wife April, Steven and wife, Pam, David and his daughter, Meghan, as well as his daughters, Lorraine and Ellen and her husband, Paul DiScipio with daughters, Katherine and Julia, and his stepson, Brian Faulkner and wife, Jody with children, Trevor, Rachel, and Keith. He is also survived by his sister, Sheryl, and many nieces and nephews including Frank Lurvey and Elaine Langer. Francis was predeceased by his twin brother, Frank, as well as his brothers, Edwin and Erwin. He was also predeceased by his longtime companion, Brian and Edwin’s mother, Maureen Faulkner and former wife, Roberta Lurvey Gilmore.

Predeceased by his wife, Alice Hopper, he is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Joann Peatfield; daughters, Shay Belair and Jayne Pond; sons-in-law, Adam Belair and James Pond; mother, Arlene Hopper; father and stepmother, Frederick S. and Barbara Hopper; siblings, Susan Hardy, Stephan Hopper, Scott Hopper, and Sherri Chagnon; grandsons, Benjamin Belair, Jonathan Belair and Jackson Pond; and numerous nieces and nephews.
