---- — SANDOWN — Don’t miss out on the fun children’s activities taking place at the Sandown Public Library (SPL) this May! For more information or to sign up for programs, visit the library, give us a call at 887-3428, or check our website at www.sandownlibrary.us

Preschool Story Hours - Children and their caregivers are invited to Story Hour with Miss Jenn every Tuesday and Wednesday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. Miss Jenn will delight children with stories and songs and lead preschoolers in a craft to take home. Themes for May include spring topics such as mother’s day surprise, ducks, and flowers.

Brickbusters Lego Club – Are you a Lego lover? Do you love to design and build your own creations? Bring your imagination and join our new group of builders on Thurs., May 9, at 4:00 p.m., and again on Sat., May 18, at 10:00 a.m. Each month, children (ages 6-12) will listen to a story and then go to work building their own design based on our theme, which will be the same for both sessions. Space is limited and sign-ups are required for this program.

Celebrate Mom - Celebrate mom this Mother’s Day with a story about moms, a special craft, and a cupcake to decorate. Space is limited for this program on Sat., May 11, at 1:00 p.m., so sign-ups are required.

Rockin’ Readers Book Club - Join our discussion of Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech on Wed., May 15, at 3:30 p.m. As Sal entertains her grandparents with friend Phoebe’s outrageous story during a car trip, her own story begins to unfold -the story of a thirteen-year-old girl whose only wish is to be reunited with her missing mother. A snack will follow our lively discussion. Appropriate for grades 4-6.

Chess Club - All ages are welcome to Chess Club on Thursday, May 16th at 6:30 pm. No experience is needed. Chess master Monty Cole is ready to challenge your every move and help strengthen your strategic skills.
