---- — HAMPSTEAD - On Sat., November 17, at 12:30 p.m., the Hampstead Public Library presents a movie matinée. This recent nature documentary takes moviegoers deep into the forests of Africa with a new true life adventure introducing an adorable baby chimp named Oscar. Working together, Oscar’s chimpanzee family navigates the complex territory of the forest. When they are confronted by a rival band of chimps, Oscar is left to fend for himself until a surprising ally steps in and changes his life forever. This movie is suitable for adults and kids of all ages. Feel free to pack a lunch or snack and bring it along for this “Brown Bag Matinée.” For more information, go to www.HampsteadLibrary.org.

HOLIDAY BOOK BUDDIES — The Book Buddies program returns to the Hampstead Public Library for a holiday installment on Mon., December 3, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. This program pairs middle and high school students as mentors with preschool children. We will have stories, crafts, food, and fun. Middle and high school students who like to work with young children should sign-up for this event. It’s also a good way to earn volunteer hours. Parents of preschoolers, please sign-up your children to spend time with a “Big Kid.” They will love the attention and will benefit from the one-on-one reading time. Call 329-6411 or email pfalconer@hampstead.lib.nh.us to register for this event.
