Celebrate Banned Books

EXETER — Water Street Bookstore and American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire will sponsor ‘Freedom to Read’ as part of Banned Books Week. Banned Books Week (September 22-28) is an annual event celebrating freedom from censorship and the importance of the First Amendment.

Come to Water Street Bookstore on Wed., September 25 at 7:00 p.m. to hear local celebrities, teachers and students read from classical books which have been banned from some schools and libraries. Books you will hear from include: “The Grapes of Wrath”, “Ulysses”, “People’s History of the United States”, “Nickel and Dimed”, and others. This event is free and open to the public.
