Friends to Meet

AMESBURY, MA - The Friends of the Amesbury Public Library will meet for the new season on Mon., September 9, at 7:00 p.m., in the Amesbury Room of the Library, 149 Main Street. The meetings are open to the public. Meetings take place on the first Monday of each month except July, August and holiday Mondays.

The mission of the Friends is to support the Library and staff, to enhance the resources and services of the Library and to enrich our community. They focus on the local and extended community of library patrons and accomplish their mission through collaboration, fundraising, allocation of funds and sponsorship of programs for the community.

Membership comprises a large percent of the Friends annual operating budget, are vital to providing educational, cultural and technical programs for library users of all ages. Contributions to The Friends, a 501c3 charitable organization, are tax-deductible. Membership forms are in the brochures at the Amesbury Public Library or online at

Visit their “Book Shoppe” in the basement of the Library to browse through a huge selection of used and like-new books for a small price. It is open during regular library hours.
