KINGSTON — Throughout the month of October view “The Road Not Taken”, an art exhibit inspired by the poetry of Robert Frost and conceived by Derry artists Corinne Dodge, Judy Krassowski and Ingeborg Seaboyer. The artwork viewed in this exhibit includes both new works inspired by the words of Robert Frost and some older pieces that provide vivid and connective imagery for his anthology of poems. It's worth checking out.

Are you a scrapbooker but never have time or space to make that book of memories? Then sign up to Join the Scrapbookers Retreat here at the library on Sat., October 27, from 10:00 a.m.- 10:00 p.m. Please bring all you own supplies, as this is simply a dedicated time for you to work on your own projects and to socialize with other scrapbookers. Grab your bagged lunch and spend your lunch hour with Poe! Join as we view biographies and film adaptations of Poe's work and enjoy free coffee and refreshments! Lunch hour with Poe will be offered on Wed., October 10, 17 and 24, from 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Join us on Thurs., October 18, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. for a free screening of “The Raven”, the latest Poe adaptation, staring John Cusack! Popcorn will be provided.

Poe's life and works, including The Tell-Tale Heart, Masque of the Red Death, Annabel Lee and The Raven will be brought to life by Eclectic Entertainment in a theater production not to be missed on Thurs., October 25, from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Start your night of Trick-or-Treating with Sanborn Regional High School drama students, as they reenact bits of Poe's most well know poems in a drop in theater production on Wed., October 31, from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at the Old Nichols Memorial Library Building. Enter the gothic stone structure and discover the dark tales of Poe. Productions will last fifteen-minutes and repeat throughout the evening.

The Children's room is the place to be this month with Pre-school Story Time on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. with Ms. Karen and Book Babies, a story time class of literacy skills for children 0-36 months. runs every Monday at 10:30 until November 12 with Ms. Sue.

Our local TD Bank has partnered with the Kingston Community Library to create a fun-filled storytime program that focuses on dollars and cents on Fri., October 12 at 10:30 a.m. After story time, there will be a craft. Parents can also learn how to start a savings account for their children! Ages 3-6.

Don't miss the Halloween Party and Family Movie Night on Fri., October 26, beginning at 4:30 p.m.

That's right! Two fantastically scary events in one! Frightful Halloween crafts, cupcakes, and potluck dinner, followed by Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were Rabbit to start at 5:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring a spooky potluck dish for dinner. Please contact Miss Sue at
