'Little People' at Gale

NEWTON —The “Little People” (fairies, gnomes, and elves) will be the theme of our Summer Reading Program this week starting with a Friday Flic of “Gnomeo and Juliet”on Fri., July 12 at 2:00 p.m. Enjoy this cute film on the big screen in air-conditioned comfort. Popcorn will be provided.

On Mon., July 15, 6:30 p.m. children will create adorable Flower Fairy Dolls out of pipe cleaners, beads, and silk flowers. Kits are limited so sign up is necessary.

Families are invited to come hear about Fairy House Building on Wed., July 17 at 2:00 p.m. We’ll be heading outside and building a fairy village on the library grounds! Bring natural materials ( sticks, bark, grasses, moss, pine cones, acorns,pebbles, shells, etc.) and lots of imagination to use for making these fairy houses. Maybe the fairies will come visit these new homes at night.

This week’s Story Hour will feature stories about Fairies, Gnome, and Elves with songs and crafts.

Teens and tweens are invited to come play a game of Jeopardy or Wii on the big screen on Wed., July 17 at 6:00 p.m.

There’s a Reading Club or Contest for every age, from “Read to Me” to “Teens” to the “Adult Reading Raffle” with prizes galore! So keep reading and reach for your goal and win.

Drop in for Saturday Craft Time each week at 11:00 a.m. Dinosaur crafts are scheduled for Sat., July 13, with Pirate Hats and Summertime Journals in future weeks. Make your best guess and win all the Gummy Bears in the Candy Contest.

Thanks to the efforts of the Friends of the Library, passes are available for a reduced price to York Animal Kingdom in York, ME.
