KINGSTON —Every day its ninety degrees or above, the library will automatically show movies in our program room, offering popcorn and lemonade. Stop in and cool down!

Everyone gives near the holidays, unfortunately hunger isn’t seasonal, and come summer local food pantries have empty shelves. The Library is pleased to partner with the Kingston Food Pantry to collect non-perishable and non-expired food and toiletry items in lieu of current fines for the entire month of July!

This year we are pleased to announce summer Reading Programs for All: Adults, Teens, and Kids! We will be offering reading incentives in the form of raffles featuring great prizes (such as a Kindle!), as well as many great programs. Sign up to today!

Come find out what you should know before you go Sea/Lake Kayaking on Thurs., July 11 at 6:30 p.m. Our in-house clinic will give you the basics. We will cover how to use the boat, equipment, types of boats, navigation, tides and currents, good local put-ins, and how to be safe on open water. This program is being presented by John and Nancy Halloran, who ran a sea kayak instruction company for twenty-five years.

Don’t miss Evidence Gathering with the FBI on Tues., July 16, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Join a member of the Boston FBI Evidence Response Team as she shares with us tricks of the trade. Learn about fingerprinting, search warrants, and search procedures, as well as some recent Boston FBI cases!

Arrrgh! It be time fer a grrrrrrreat treasure hunt! Children ages 6+ are invited to come to the library dressed like a pirate for a Pirate Treasure Hunt on Fri., July 12 at 2:00 p.m. We’ll have a fun pirate craft, search for hidden treasure, and scavenge the room for books!

Story times continue with Ms. Sue on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. with Book Babies, a story time for children ages 0-36 months, and Preschool story time on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.
