KINGSTON — Throughout the month of October, we will take part in NH Big Read, a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, and NH State Library, designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. This month participants in the Big Read are highlighting the works of Edgar Allen Poe.

Grab your bagged lunch and spend your lunch hour with Poe on Wednesdays, October 10, 17 and 24, from 12:00 p.m. View biographies and film adaptations of Poe’s work and enjoy free coffee and refreshments.

There will be a free screening of “The Raven”, the latest Poe adaptation, staring John Cusack on Thurs., October 18, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Popcorn and chairs will be provided.

Come hear a fun and interactive story and then stay for an associated craft at Pre-school Story Time on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. with Ms. Karen.

Kingston Fire Department will take over story time as they share tips on fire safety and show off one of their rides on Thurs., October 11, at 10:30 a.m.

Ms. Karen is excited to announce that the Tween Scene, a section dedicated to readers who are no longer little kids but not quite yet teens, is now open. Check it out!
