PLAISTOW — The library is open 9:00 na.m.-7:30 p.m., its regular hours, on Mon., October 8.
Calling all history lovers and readers who enjoy true stories about fearless survivors: come by the library to sign out a copy of the book “The Tin Ticket”, to participate in part one of our Tin Ticket event: a lunch time Book Group on Wed., October 10 at 11:00 a.m. We will discuss “The Tin Ticket: The Heroic Journey of Australia's Convict Women” by Deborah J. Swiss. The library will provide beverages; feel free to bring your lunch or a snack to share. 
Then sign up online for part two: An Evening with Deborah J. Swiss, on Wed., October 17, starting at 6:00 p.m., including an interview for broadcast on Plaistow Access show Scrybes, a live musical performance by Digney Fignus of “All for Love,” a song inspired by the convict women, and audience Q&A and a Book Signing. It will be filmed for Plaistow Access and aired on Channels 17 and 23. Refreshments will be provided by the library. Please register at www.plaistowlibrary.com
Card-Making with Lorraine McNulty and Colleen Ferrante meets October 11 at 6:30 p.m. Please visit the library or our website to see this month’s designs. We will make two each of four designs for a $15.00 materials fee. Space is limited to fifteen: please register online in advance. Bring paper craft adhesive and scissors. This is an adult-level class.
Friends of the Library at Plaistow (FLAP) are preparing for their annual Vendor Fair to be held Sat., November 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Companies such as Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Avon, Lia Sophia, and Flags on the Go along with about ten others will be stationed in the library selling their wares. The Friends are looking for volunteers to help that day as well as to join the group and assist with the Friends’ fundraising efforts. The next meeting is October 15 at 6:30 p.m., at the library—all are welcome to attend.

  • Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown, 66

    Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

  • Ted "Teddy" Bolduc

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
