Shop with HPL Friends

Carriage Towne News

---- — HAMPSTEAD - As we are all aware, the holidays are upon us and shopping for gifts is a priority this time of year. If you’re looking for something a bit different for some one special or one of those people who are really difficult to buy for, the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library may have a solution. Here are a few suggestions of things the Friends have for sale that will help them support the library while possibly solving one or two of your shopping problems.

Among the items available are those wonderful heavy-duty canvas tote bags with a charming picture of the Story Garden on the front. These bags are practically indestructible and a generous size besides. If a tote bag isn’t your problem recipient’s bag, then how about either a small framed print of Sign Island or a larger matted Sign Island print that you could have framed for the person? There are still people who actually write notes instead of sending emails and the Friends have them covered with two different possibilities. There are sets of Points of View note cards or individual photo note cards. The Points of View cards offer three different paintings of the old Meeting House done by three local artists, each in a different style. These cards came about as the result of a joint exhibit by the artists at the library a few years ago. Finally the Friends have a video of Hampstead history done by Don Duston several years ago. Surely one of these offerings will satisfy some one on your gift list. They are all available at the library. Just ask at the front desk.

DECEMBER RAFFLE - In keeping with the holiday spirit, the new raffle basket features Santa Claus in many different forms. The red and green basket (perfect for holding cards) contains wooden Santas, ceramic Santas, a glass Santa, a pewter Santa, a fabric Santa, Santa napkins, a Santa notepad and, most important of all, chocolate Santas. This absolutely charming collection of Santa Claus figures plus can be yours only if you purchase your raffle ticket at the library’s front desk. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. The winner will be drawn just before the Friends’ program of holiday music on December 11th.
