---- — SANDOWN - Story hour is ongoing every Tuesday at 10 a.m. and Thursday at 3 p.m., at the Sandown Public Library. Parents and caregivers are welcome to bring children for some stories, singing, poems and a special craft.

If you play cribbage or 45s and are looking for an opponent, come to the library on Tuesday, May 6 and May 20, at 6 p.m. Bring a friend along for some light refreshments and a few games, just for fun.

The movie for May will be on Mon., May 12. This month’s choice stars Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts in the hilarious and deeply touching story of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose lives converge when a family crisis brings them back to the Midwest house they grew up in. Light refreshments will be served at our 1:00 p.m., showing and pizza at 5:30 p.m. Please call the library at 887-3428 or register online at sandownlibrary.us.

On Mon., May 19, at 10 a.m., the library will be hosting a free legal seminar with Elder Law Attorney Edward ‘Ted’ Beasley. He will discuss how to protect your house and lifetime of savings from a prolonged nursing home stay, how to avoid probate and the New Hampshire Estate Tax, plus strategies for passing assets safely and efficiently. He will also discuss a new law that says existing powers of attorney and trusts can make children personally liable for nursing-home care. In concert, financial planner Gregory Gagne of Affinity Investment Group will share his top strategies. Light refreshments will be served. Please call the library at 887-3428 to register.

If you have a commute to work, check out the new Playaway’s from the Sandown library. Playaway is an all-in-one audiobook format. Check out a different book for each family member to listen to on their own with earbuds, or check out family friendly titles and plug right into your car’s auxiliary port with the included cord!
