---- — EAST KINGSTON —The Summer Reading Program is a great success! Ninety young readers and their families signed up for our summer reading program this year at the East Kingston Public Library. Reading is a family activity. Parents help their children fill in log sheets with titles and times for the written word. Our littlest readers are listeners, sharing book time with parents, grandparents and older siblings. The love of reading is a lifetime treasure. An early start ensures success in all areas at school and nurtures a love of learning forever.

Miss Tracy shares books with the little ones on Mondays and Fridays at 10:00 and the teachers from East Kingston Elementary School have been very generous with their time doing book talks to offer reading suggestions for different age levels.

We still have room for sign ups in our big kid crafts and look forward to our wrap up party on Mon., August 5 at 11:00 a.m. when Creature teachers will be here with their animal friends. At the end of the program we will draw the winners of the Water Country passes.
