Diehard readers are welcome to start shopping from 8:00-9:00 a.m., with a $5.00 admission. The best bargains are to be had from 12:00-2:00 p.m. with the Buck-a-Bag sale where $1.00 gets you a bag full of paperbacks and children’s books, and $2.00 gets you a bag full of hardcovers. What a steal!
Children ages 3+ are invited to a Tea Party on Fri., August 2 at 11:00 a.m. We’ll read stories, have tea (juice), and listen to music.
Join Miss Sue in the library meeting room on Tues., August 6 at 4:00 p.m. for an afternoon of games! Bring your own games, or play ours! We have chess, Magic, Munchkin, Twister, Jenga, Sorry Sliders, and Wii games.
Don’t miss Nickelodeon’s award-winning children’s performer Mike Bent in an epic quest, as he searches the ruins of an ancient temple for a priceless artifact - an overdue library book! Young readers will help Mike solve mysterious clues to uncover the secret location of the elusive missing text. This entertaining adventure features magic, comedy, storytelling, puppets and music, plus amazing books such as “Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs” by Mo Williams and “Holes” by Louis Sachar. The program is appropriate for ages 3+. Supported by a grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services and donations from the Byrne Foundation, CHLIS, Cogswell Benevolent Trust, and the NH Library Association.
