'Just Dig It' at Gale

NEWTON —This week the Summer Reading Program at the Gale Library will explore some of the things to be found under the surface with “Just Dig It”.

Teens and tweens can “Go Beneath the Surface” and explore the Steampunk Style on Mon., July 22 at 2:00 p.m. Stop in to learn how to create an unique bracelet with mechanical accents.

All ages can come make Sand Art on Mon., July 22 at 6:30 p.m. Use pretty colored sand to make your own original pictures or color in a prepared piece with sand.

Make Glow in the Dark Terrariums using mainly live materials and a special creature that will glow in the dark on Wed.,, July 24 at 2:00 p.m. All materials will be provided so please sign up for this program.

Our Friday Flic will feature a family of foxes who live beneath the surface and outwit three farmers. Come see “Fantastic Mr. Fox” on Fri., July 26 at 2:00 p.m. in air-conditioned comfort. Popcorn will be served, bring your own juice.

Tuesday Storyhour at 10:00 a.m. will tell stories about what grows and lives under the ground. We’ll start our window planter and watch the seeds grow over the next few weeks.

Thanks to the Topsfield Fair Association donation children may take home Grow Ums Plant Kits. The Topsfield Fair also has a great incentive for children to reach their reading goals. Find out more about it at the library.
