---- — HAMPSTEAD —Friends, family, and people of all ages are welcome to the seventh annual Hampstead Idol at the Hampstead Public Library on Thurs., July 25 at 6:30 p.m. This variety show is sure to provide fun entertainment for the whole family.

FAIRY AND ELF HOUSE CRAFT: On Mon., July 29 at 2:00 p.m., the Hampstead Public Library will have a Fairy and Elf House event for families. Come make a magical dwelling for your favorite fairy or elf visitors. The library will supply natural materials for building. We recommend you bring some supplies of your own, so that your house will reflect your personality and creativity. No advanced sign-up is required.

CUPCAKE WARS: Middle school students, do you love cupcakes? Come to the Hampstead Public Library on Tues., July 30 at 2:00 p.m. for Cupcake Wars. The library will supply the cupcakes and decorating materials. All you need to bring is your creativity, but feel free to also bring a friend. A panel of judges will award prizes in several categories. No advanced sign-up is necessary.

AUTHOR AND DANCERS ENTERTAIN: David Ira Rottenberg, author of the children’s book “Gwendolyn the Graceful Pig” makes a special appearance at the Hampstead Public Library on Thurs., August 1 at 6:30 p.m. As David reads from his book, performers from the nearby European School of Dancing will accompany him. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

KIDS SUMMER READING FINALE: Mark your calendars and make sure you don’t miss the spectacular Finale for the Hampstead Public Library’s Children’s Summer Reading Program on Thurs., August 8 at 2:00 p.m. There will be fun for kids and parents with a make-your-own ice cream sundae bar, raffle drawings, and a special performance by Mystic Drumz. Come and enjoy this unique world music adventure with an interactive percussion experience. No advanced sign-up is necessary.

MOVIE NIGHT: On Wed., July 31 at 7:00 p.m., the Hampstead Public Library will have another installment in their free summer movie series. Teens and adults will enjoy this quirky movie about a tormented zombie who experiences a profound transformation after entering into a romantic relationship. In an embattled world where the living and the walking dead are at odds, this unlikely pair builds a tenuous bridge between the two sides and nothing will ever be the same again. SATURDAY MOVIE: On Sat., August 3, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Hampstead Public Library screens a movie that takes you on an adventurous journey. Delve into dwarfish caverns filled with gold, troll bolt holes, and goblin caves. Spend time with a band of fun and fierce dwarves in our cool movie room.
