Epping Library News

EPPING —The Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library’s annual “Magic of Christmas” Pajama Night will be on Fri., December 14. Starting at 6:30 p.m. kids (ages 2-8) and their families will celebrate the season with simple holiday crafts, a festive scavenger hunt through the library and magical Christmas stories by the tree. Guests are invited to wear their coziest PJs and bring a favorite holiday treat to ensure there will be enough for all at the snack table. The library will provide cocoa, cookies and eggnog.

On Sat., December 22 the library will host a special showing of “The Polar Express” at 11:00 a.m. in the children’s room. Children must be accompanied by a responsible big person, and may bring a picnic lunch or a snack to share. The library will provide popcorn and bottled water during this animated Christmas classic.

Because of the way holidays fall this year, the Vacation Week Movie Series will be limited to only three days, Wed., December 26 through Fri., December 28. On each of these days the library will present a movie in the children’s room at 1:00 p.m. Watch the circulation desks and the website for the announcement of what movies will be shown. The Thursday afternoon storyhour session will be canceled for this week. These are not drop-off events. Children must be supervised by a responsible big person. Popcorn will be provided, but movie-goers may bring a snack to share.

Epping’s public library is open Mon.-Fri., from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sat., 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The library will be closing at 2:00 p.m. on Mondays, December 24 and 31, and be closed on Tuesdays, December 25 and January 1.

Enjoy the holidays! For more information call 734-4587 to reach the main desk, 679-5944 for the children’s room or visit www.eppinglibrary.com.
