Colby Library News

DANVILLE —The school year is almost over, which means it’s time for summer reading at the Colby Memorial Library! This year’s summer reading program theme is “Fizz Boom Read!”, which will explore the fascinating and sometimes wacky world of science. All summer long the Library will be offering special programs, activities, and science experiments that will revolve around this year’s theme.

This year we are encouraging entire families to join and participate in summer reading together! We have reading programs for children, teens, and adults that will surely delight the entire family. Each family member that registers and participates will be eligible to win any number of our weekly and grand prizes throughout the summer.

The first day of summer reading program signups will be on Sat., June 21! We will be hosting the scientist/entertainers from Mad Science on Thurs., June 26 at 2:00 p.m. in the Children’s Room. This is a free, all ages event that will spark laughter and curiosity in science for the entire family.

Some of our programs this year will include: special StoryTimes, Trebuchet Day, building and launching bottle rockets, family movie events, Chapter Chats, and much more!

Please find us on Facebook, call, or come in and visit us for more information on this year’s exciting summer reading programs!
