---- — NEWTON — April is National Poetry and Art Exhibit Month at the Gale Library! We invite all local artists to contribute their artworks for our Annual Art Exhibit. Paintings, quilting, pottery, and all forms of art will be welcomed to adorn the walls of the Library! Please deliver your works during our open hours to display.

Join us in celebration of National Poetry Month and programs that celebrate National Library Week (April 14-20).

Have you ever written a poem or thought of writing one? This is the perfect time to give it a try and display your creativity on our PoeTree! Writings will be exhibited for the month of April for the enjoyment of all visitors.

An Open Mic night has been scheduled for Wed., April 17 at 6:30 p.m. Come and recite your favorite poetry reading, sing a song, or play an instrument! Musical guests, The Hallock Family, will join us to accompany participants or choose to go solo! As you may remember, the Hallock Family have given guitar lessons and performed with their band at the Library and Town Beach. This event promises to be lots of fun for all ages. Sign-up sheets are located at both circulation desks to secure your performance listing. Hope you can join us!

Many thanks to Mr. Edward Hale who recently was a guest speaker at our Genealogy Club. We enjoyed learning of researching tools and resources. A very informative history review along with interesting stories!

The Friends of the Gale Library wish to thank the many bakers who contributed items for their Voting Day Bake Sale. This event was the most successful ever! Thank you for your time and generosity! The next Friends meeting will be held on Tues., April 9 at 1:00 p.m. New members are always welcome!
