---- — HAMPSTEAD —There is a change in how customers will access the Hollyhock Thrift Shop at the Hampstead Public Library from now on. The side door of the building can no longer be used to enter the Thrift Shop. It must remain locked at all times for the security of the building, the library staff and the contents of the library. Access to the Thrift Shop will be through the front entrance of the library from now on.

The Thrift Shop will be closed on Tues., July 2, and Sat., July 6, to give the volunteers who staff it a short vacation. Usually closures mean that the volunteers are working extra hard to clear the shop of out of season clothing and restock it with fresh things for the next season, but this short closing is to give them a break. The shop will re-open for business as usual on Tues., July 9, at 9:00 a.m.

Donations for the November 15th Auction are coming in nicely. There will be many exceptional offerings for the event this year. Businesses and professionals in the greater Hampstead area are stepping with generosity once again to support the Friends of the Hampstead Public Library. If you haven’t yet been contacted by a member of the Friends but would like to make a donation, please call Ruth Paul, 489-1978, or Linda Skidmore, 329-8032. Either lady will gladly discuss your donation with you and make arrangements to pick it up. The Friends of the Library are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization so your donation is tax deductible.

The Auction committee is also recruiting volunteers to help with the Auction. People are needed both now to assist is soliciting and picking up donations and just before and during the event in mid-November for setting up, selling raffle tickets, cleaning up and other Auction related jobs. If you have just a little time and an inclination to help with this special event, please call either Ruth Paul, 489-1978, or Linda Skidmore, 329-8032, to let them know how you can help.
