---- — ATKINSON — Back by popular demand, we’re creating mythical dwellings for forest gnomes. Children should sign up with an adult and embellish a birdhouse structure using natural materials on a bark base. Together you will create your own gnome home!
This exciting event is for grades K-5 with a participating parent on Thurs., November 21, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Registration is definitely required- for Atkinson residents only. A glue gun and glue sticks are needed to participate. Glue guns will only be used by adults. Only one gnome home per child can be created. (If you are discouraged by the waiting list on some of our events, be of good cheer. Historically we call on the day of the event for at least several slots that become available last minute. Don’t be afraid to put your name in and be available by phone.)
Let’s ‘continue’ conversations on energy! The Atkinson Energy Commission and Kimball Library are partnering to offer time for people to come together and get informed as well as discuss energy issues. Generally, these meetings will take place on the third Monday of each month. November’s topic will be ‘How to make your house more energy efficient this winter.’ Please drop in and join us on Mon., November 18, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Chilly weather is definitely upon us!
Generally, the adult morning book discussion meets on the fourth Wednesday of the month. This month due to Thanksgiving and all the preparations the group will meet on Fri., November 22, from 10:15-11:30 a.m., to discuss “Olive Kitteridge” by Elizabeth Strout. Newcomers are always welcome.
