---- — EPPING — What a wonderful time the children had at the first meeting of the Lego Club on November 10! Thanks to Epping mom, Kate Moulton for starting the group. The next “block party” will be on Sat., December 8, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and then hopes to meet twice a month beginning in January.

The Friends of the Library are sponsoring their annual silent auction in the main level of the library. Patrons use their library account number to bid on gift certificates from local restaurants and lovely handmade gift baskets. Stop by to view and bid on the items and support the Friends. The drawing will be held on Tues., December 11 at a 7:00 p.m. combined meeting of the book groups and the Friends’ holiday cookie swap.

The holidays are upon us and the annual “Magic of Christmas” pajama night will be on Fri., December 14. Starting at 6:30 p.m. kids from 2-8 and their families will celebrate the season with crafts, a festive scavenger hunt and Christmas stories by the tree. Guests are invited to bring a favorite holiday treat to share for the snack table to go along with cocoa, cookies and egg nog.

On Sat., December 22 the library will host a special showing of “The Polar Express” at 11:00 a.m. in the children’s room. Children must be accompanied by a responsible big person, and may bring a picnic lunch or a snack to share. The library will provide popcorn and bottled water during this new Christmas classic. Watch the library desks and website for a listing of movies being selected for the vacation week movie series, which will run a children’s new release on Wed., Thurs. and Fri. of vacation.

Epping’s public library is open Mon.-Fri., from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sat., 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The library will be closing at 2:00 p.m. on Mon., December 24 and Mon., December 31, and be closed on the Tues., December 25 and Tues., January 1.
