EAST KINGSTON - There’s a new Raffle Quilt on display at the East Kingston Public Library. Once again, Sarah Belle Lazor has pieced a lovely quilt to be used as a fundraiser for the library. Her work has special significance this year because the fabrics were donated by the family of Joan Kasinskas. During her lifetime, Joan served on the library’s board of trustees and was a staunch supporter of the East Kingston Public Library. Many books from her personal quilting library now grace our shelves for the community to share.
Sarah Belle has taken Joan’ s reproduction fabrics in a rich palette of rust, cream and blue to fashion a star quilt that would complement either an antique home or a modern dwelling. The quilt is currently on display at the library and raffle tickets will be on sale throughout the year.
