Epping Library News

EPPING — Neverland Pajama Night has been rescheduled for Fri., February 22. Families with children ages 2-8 are invited to wear their PJs for Peter Pan and Tinkerbell crafts, a scavenger hunt through the familiar scenes of “Neverland” and songs and stories with Miss Tracie at the end of the evening. As with all Pajama Nights, guests are asked to bring something for the snack table whether it’s an easy bag of something crunchy, a plate of fruit or homemade sweets, so everyone will find something they like.

The next Lego Block Party will be held on Sat., February 16, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Epping mom, Kate Moulton provides the blocks and the kids provide the creativity. Children ages 4 and up are welcome to this monthly gathering of Lego fans, which simply provides a fun hour for building, sharing and collaborating. For more information, contact Kate at eppingblockparty@gmail.com or Miss Tracie at traciehmml@gmail.com.

On Tues., February 19, local artist turned storyteller, Veo-Dao Nu Bunnag will be at the library to read her recently published story, “Mr. Speedy’s Adventure”. Visitors to the library have seen her lovely story murals that she painted in the stairwell many years ago. The public is invited to join the Story Explorers at 3:30 p.m. for this wonderful opportunity to meet a local author and hear her tale about a snail named Mr. Speedy. She will bring copies of her book for purchase and signing.

During the week of February vacation the library will offer free movies on the big screen at 1:00 p.m. each afternoon. Children must be accompanied by a responsible big person. Check the website for the schedule to be published soon.

Plans are in the works for a Teen Volunteer Lock In on Friday evening, March 1. Beginning at 7:00 p.m., teens who have volunteered or are interested in volunteering during the summer reading program are invited to come to the library for movies, pizza, friendship and brainstorming activities to start planning the summer of 2013. When the library closes to the public at 8:00 the teens and their adult chaperones will ‘own’ the library until pick-up time at 11:00 p.m. For more information or to volunteer to help chaperone, contact Miss Tracie at 679-5944 or traciehmml@gmail.com. Signed permission forms will be required for all participants.

Epping’s public library is open Mon.-Fri., from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sat., 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The library will be closed on Mon., February 18 in honor of President’s Day.
