HAMPSTEAD - The Hampstead Public Library welcomes a special guest to the Sat., February 2 session of “Books for Breakfast” – Hampstead author Frank Paolini. He will read from his children’s book, “Gustov & Me,” the tale of a special elephant. This free event takes place from 9:00am to 11:00am. The library will provide crafts, books to share, and delicious breakfast foods.
FREE FAMILY MOVIE MATINÉE - In honor of Wilhelm Grimm’s birthday, the Hampstead Public Library is celebrating by showing a movie based on the classic Grimm’s fairytale “Cinderella.” On Sat., February 9, at 12:30 p.m., come see Walt Disney’s animated interpretation of this rags-to-riches tale about a poor girl who, with the help of her fairy godmother, goes to the royal ball. Wonderful songs, a plucky band of helpful mice, suspense, and of course a happy ending all make this terrific entertainment for the whole family. This movie is free and open to the public. PAWS TO READ - Johnny Claude the Listener Dog returns to the Hampstead Public Library on Mon., February 11, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. He is a certified therapy dog who loves to listen to kids read, tell stories, or act out a book. This program is terrific for reluctant readers of any age. You can set up a fifteen minute session with Johnny Claude, by signing-up at the library’s front desk or calling the library at 329-6411. Adults are also welcome to visit with Johnny Claude.
