KINGSTON — The NH Fish & Game Department will share the wonders of NH’s Bobcats, an animal with frequent sightings in Kingston on Tues., February 5, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Discover their natural history and current management and tracking techniques being used.

Attention Teens! Don’t miss the Make your Own Fortune Cookie Class on Thurs., February 7, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Come celebrate the Chinese New Year by making your own fortune cookies! While working on your creations we will watch popular movies that highlight Chinese culture.

Drop in on Wed., February 20, between 4:00-6:00 to sample literature inspired food created by the staff and patrons during our Cook Off. Copies of recipes and their inspirational literature will be on display all week!

How to enter: All entries must be Breakfast inspired by or taken from literature (fiction or non-fiction). Participants need to sign up the front desk by February 8, with the tile of their inspiration book. All participants will need to drop of their recipe and entry (cut or made into sample sizes) by 3:00 p.m. on February 20.

Programs abound in the Children’s Room with Book Babies, a story time class of literacy skills for children 0-36 months on Mondays at 10:30 a.m., now through March 25, and Pre-school story time, an hour of stories and crafts every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner! Ages 7+ are invited to join Miss Sue in the library’s kitchen on February 8 at 4:00 p.m. to bake some delicious cookies for your special valentine!

The New Hampshire ASPCA Presents: Responsible Pet Ownership on Fri., February 15 at 2:00 p.m. Join us for a presentation by Courtney Brooks with her animal friend about what it means to be a good pet owner. If you can, bring with you a donation of supplies that the ASPCA needs to continue helping animals in need. A list of needed supplies will be available at the library’s front desk two weeks before the program. All ages are welcome!

  • Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown, 66

    Ft. Gibson, OK — Catherine F. "Kitty" (Clements) Brown passed away February 17, 2013, at her home in Ft. Gibson, Okla., after a brave battle with cancer. Kitty was born in Brentwood, N.H., on April 21, 1946, to the late Chester H. Clements and Catherine F. (Morse) Clements. She was raised in Kingston, N.H., and graduated from Sanborn Seminary. She lived for many years on Plum Island, Mass. While living on Plum Island, she was a columnist and photographer for The Daily News of Newburyport, as well as a school bus driver.

  • Ted "Teddy" Bolduc

    Fremont, N.H. — Ted “Teddy” Burleigh Bolduc, was born the youngest son of Phyllis and Joseph Bolduc Sr., on May 22, 1962. He died suddenly April 8, 2013, after a brief illness. Ted lived for most of his life in Fremont and Raymond. He was well known for his skills with heavy equipment and worked all his life in construction and excavation in the Fremont and Epping area. In addition to his work, he loved ice hockey, baseball, hunting, country music, and animals, especially his dog Finlay. He was very proud of, and also loved by, his very large family.
