---- — HAMPSTEAD – Get in a Halloween mood by coming to the Hampstead Public Library on Tues., October 30, at 6:30 p.m., for movie director Tim Burton’s homage to the 1960’s television show “Dark Shadows.” Starring Johnny Depp, this film takes us to Collinwood Manor in the 1700’s, when Barnabas (Depp) is a rich and powerful playboy, until he breaks the heart of a vengeful witch. She dooms him to a fate worse than death: turning him into a vampire and then burying him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is freed from his tomb and emerges into the very changed world of 1972 where he meets the remnants of his family. This movie is free and open to the public.
BOOKS FOR BREAKFAST - The Hampstead Public Library will have “Books for Breakfast” on Sat., October 27, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. This program is designed to give families more time together. The library will have crafts, books to share, and delicious breakfast foods. Everyone who attends will have a chance to win a great prize.
ADULT STORYTIME - Next month’s Adult Storytime at the Hampstead Public Library will be held on Fri., November 2, and on November 16, at 10:00 a..m. This program is designed for developmentally disabled patrons, but all adults are welcome. We will read books and do a craft. Adult Storytime will also be December 7th and 21st.
BRIDGE CLUB - The new Bridge Club at the Hampstead Public Library is off to a well-attended and successful start. The club will continue to meet on Monday afternoons. Play starts at 1:00 p.m. No sign-up is necessary and you do not need to be a resident of Hampstead to attend. If you have questions, call the library at 603/329-6411.
AUTHOR AT LIBRARY - Come to the Hampstead Public Library on Thurs., November 8, at 6:30 p.m., to meet Hilary Weisman Graham, author of the new young adult novel “Reunited.” Ask Hilary about her career as an author, filmmaker and screenwriter.
