PLAISTOW — On Sat., December 21, at 11:00 a.m., interior designer Amelia Holdsworth will demonstrate how easy it is to create breathtaking “Tablescapes” using items you may already have around your house. From traditional to eclectic, learn the basics of designing festive table decor for the holidays and beyond. Visit for more information about Amelia. The Friends are raffling a handmade dollhouse to benefit the library. Visit the front desk for tickets for your chance to win this beautiful handmade item, donated by the Small Passions Miniature Club of Plaistow. The winner will receive 81 solid-wood accessories and furniture pieces. Tickets are $1.00 each, $5.00 for six tickets, and $20.00 for 25. Come to the drawing Mon., December 16 at 4:00 p.m., to find out who wins. Second and third prizes will also be drawn, and every participant who comes will receive a free book.

The next Card-Making with Colleen class is Thurs., December 19, from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Make eight cards (two of each design). The cost of class is $15.00 for materials. Please bring scissors and adhesive. This is an adult-level class. Please register in advance.

Register now for holiday break events including “The Norman Magic Experience” on Mon., December 23 at 1:00 p.m. and ‘The Woodland Cinderella’ Puppet Show from acclaimed puppeteer, Deborah Costine – Fri., December 27 at 2:00 p.m. Norman Ng combines original and amazing magic tricks with his unique style of storytelling, action, and audience interaction. The curtain is pulled back and the audience is invited to a world where anything is possible. Recommended for Ages 4 and up. Registration is required as space is limited.

National-award-winning puppeteer Deborah Costine uses the highly effective medium of puppetry to teach about nature. The Woodland Cinderella Puppet Show is the winner of the UNIMA U.S.A. Citation For Excellence, the highest award for puppetry in North America. This event is recommended for ages 4 and up. Registration is required as space is limited.
