---- — KINGSTON — Join the Kingston Community Library for the introductory event, “Bridging Cultures: Understanding the Middle East & What it Means Today”, a series of presentations, film and book discussions guided by leading experts in the field on Thurs., October 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Join us at the library for two fantastically frightful Halloween events in one: The Halloween Party and Family Movie Night on Fri., October 25 at 4:30 p.m. Have your face painted by Kimberly Connell from the Painted Pineta! Trick-or-treat around the library with Book Characters! Make some fun Halloween crafts! Bring some food, take some food at the Potluck Dinner! All followed by a screening of ParaNorman, rated PG, to start at 5:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring a spooky potluck dish for dinner. Join Master Kelly from Alpha Tae-Kwon-Do and Fitness for a lesson in self-defense on Sat., October 26 at 12:00 p.m. Children (ages 6-12) will have a lesson in basic kicking, punching, stances, and self-defense. Master Kelly and five of her students will demonstrate these techniques and all participants will have a go at breaking a board! Bring a water bottle and wear loose clothes. Signup is required.
Story time fun continues! Book Babies, a story time for children ages 0-36 months meets every Monday at 10:30 a.m. until December 16. Preschool story meets on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. with a story and crafts.
